Three students from Saudi Arabia who will enter the Paramedic program at Penn College arrived on campus Thursday, and, on Tuesday, observed classes. The students are being trained here through funding from Houston-based Aramco Services Co. ASC is a wholly owned affiliate of Saudi Arabian Oil Co.

Daniel R. Little, scheduled to graduate in May with dual Information Technology bachelor's degrees in networking and programming, has been selected by the Student Government Association as February's "Student of the Month" at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Pennsylvania College of Technology Aviation students recently traveled to Dulles Airport in Washington, D.C., touring Independence Air's hangar, maintenance control and administrative areas. They also received an overview and demonstration of Bombardier's Canadair Regional Jet from Bombardier's Technical Representative Joe Bazil.

Monday evening's "Make a Match" dating game was a hit, as hosts Mike DiPalma and Rachel Hoover emceed two rounds of "love connection" for a pair of campus "bachelorettes." Wendy Mertzeis was the first, winning a date with first-year student Chris Carroll, and Mindy Corcelious won a date with Jim Riedel. Each couple won a $25 gift certificate for dinner.

Chef Suzann L. Major, a First Year Experience mentor and assistant professor in the School of Hospitality, presented "Valentine's Day Chocolates and Cookies" at Rose Street Apartments on Sunday night. Twenty-eight FYE students attended, makingchocolate-covered strawberries and a chocolate bowl with chocolate mousse and decorating sugar cookies with chocolate.

An article by a Pennsylvania College of Technology student was published in a recent issue of a national magazine for Information Technology professionals. Michael C. Badger, a Technical and Professional Communication major from Northumberland, wrote "LinuxQuestions.Org: Help Is a Question Away," which appeared in the December 2004 issue of LinuxWorld Magazine.

A second-year Landscape/Nursery Technology student at Pennsylvania College of Technology has been awarded a scholarship from the Pennsylvania Landscape and Nursery Association Foundation for academic excellence in horticulture. Ryan K. Allar of Donaldson was presented with the $1,000 check at the PLNA Conference held Feb. 8-10 in State College.

Le Jeune Chef Restaurant on the campus of Pennsylvania College of Technology attempts to offer an "Education in Fine Dining" not only to the College's School of Hospitality students but also to its patrons, which include high-school students from the region.

Information Technology Services reminds students to take advantage of the Student Help Desk at Penn College. The mission of the Student Help Desk is to provide computer-related assistance to our students. The help desk is committed to providing a reliable "single point-of-contact" by giving courteous and prompt attention to each incoming request.

Students at Pennsylvania College of Technology return this spring to the kitchen of the College's fine-dining restaurant, where, as part of their course work, many will spend a shift at the helm as a student manager. On Fridays at Le Jeune Chef Restaurant, dinner is prepared by students in the Regional American Cuisine course offered by the College's School of Hospitality.
