Junior baseball player Cody E. Buterbaugh (Conestoga) and sophomore volleyball player Kelly R. Hebert (Wellsboro) were named the Male and Female John S. Egli Scholar-Athlete Award-winners by the Penn State University Athletic Conference on Tuesday.

At the United States Collegiate Archery Championships  in Cedar City, Utah, this past week, Pennsylvania College of Technology sophomore Kendel F. Baier (Jersey Shore) dominated women's bowhunter to take the national title in the individual competition.

As the spring sports season winds down for Pennsylvania College of Technology athletes, archers are honing their skills as they prepare for the U.S. Intercollegiate Archery Championships later this week while the baseball team reflects after completing one of the best seasons in college history.

Video from Tuesday's campus visit by the Penn State "Coaches Caravan." a sold-out event that gave hundreds of people the opportunity to meet football coach Bill O'Brien and his counterparts in Nittany Lion field hockey and men's volleyball, has been added to the Penn College YouTube channel. "These kids are students first," O'Brien said of Penn State athletes.

The Penn State University Athletic Conference has announced its selections for the 2013 Baseball All-Conference team and four Pennsylvania College of Technology Wildcats earned a spot.

A sold-out lunch at the Penn College Field House kicked off the second week of the Penn State Coaches Caravan on Tuesday morning. Nittany Lion football coach Bill O'Brien, who is headlining the bus tour on all 12 of its stops, was joined in his local visit by Char Morett, field hockey coach, and Mark Pavlik, coach of the Penn State men's volleyball team.

Penn College Wildcats Five Penn College baseball student-athletes made the grade as they were named to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic Team. The team, announced at the championship banquet, is comprised of players that have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher and are academically a sophomore or above.

Katie L. Kratzer Penn College's Katie L. Kratzer, of Selinsgrove, has been named the Penn State University Athletic Conference Softball Newcomer of the Year for her efforts as a rookie in the 2013 season. She was also named First-Team, All-Conference. Both awards are voted on by the coaches of the PSUAC and are based on performance throughout the season.

It was a tall order for the Penn College Men’s Club Lacrosse team: three games in as many days, against #17-ranked Penn State Altoona and Bloomsburg and Shippensburg universities. The Wildcats played their best lacrosse of the season and swept all three to finish the season with a record of 4-3, their highest winning percentage in history.

While the softball season officially ended for Pennsylvania College of Technology last week, the baseball team’s season continues this week with a trip to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Small College World Series.
