Continuing a seasonal tradition of honoring its graduating student-athletes, Penn College this week said "goodbye" to senior Lady Wildcat Lindsay K. Wiegand.

Leroy Joiner, a sophomore on the Penn College men's basketball team, has been named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Division II Player of the Week for Jan. 10-17 – a first for Wildcat athletics. In two victories, Joiner averaged 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4.5 assists. He leads the team in scoring this season with 228 points and has scored 720 thus far during his career.

Taking time to remember those less fortunate, Penn College students sponsored a canned-food drive during Monday's basketball games in Bardo Gymnasium. In an event supported by the Student Government Association, Student Athlete Advisory Committee and the men's volleyball team, one can of food got its donor a free hot dog.

Student-athletes on Penn College's fall sports teams celebrated a successful season with a banquet in the Thompson Professional Development Center's Mountain Laurel Room on Monday night.

On Monday night, Penn College saw why Lycoming College is heading to a national intramural flag football tournament this weekend: The Warriors scored on a touchdown pass three minutes into the game and went on to beat the Wildcats 34-12.
