The Penn College bowling team paid tribute to its four graduating seniors Tuesday during the squad's season home opener at Faxon Bowling Lanes. Paul Bouchard, Wesley Moyer, Travis Rupert and Aaron Smith were recognized prior to the start of the meet in the packed Loyalsock Township venue.
Two Pennsylvania College of Technology fall sports teams step into the national spotlight Friday as the men's soccer team competes at Burlington, Vt., and cross-country runners battle at Concord, N.H., in United States Collegiate Athletic Association championships.
Senior defender Seth Rearick (Watsontown/Warrior Run) was named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week for men's soccer. For the week ending Oct. 31, Rearick helped the Wildcats go 2-1, including scoring the game-winner in the Penn State University Athletic Conference men's soccer championships against Penn State New Kensington.
Junior Lyndsey Smith (Mechanicsburg/Cumberland Valley), sophomore Tara Powell (Burgettstown) and freshman Samantha Davis (North Apollo/Apollo Ridge) have been named to the Penn State University Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball All-Conference Team. Smith, a setter, and Davis, an outside hitter, earned Second Team honors, while Powell, an outside hitter, was an honorable mention.
During Deb Vincenzes' first four seasons as coach of the coed bowling team at Pennsylvania College of Technology, the Wildcats have excelled. They expect more of the same this year. The four-year members and captains of the team were given a heartfelt speech from the coaching staff prior to the match that referenced the duo's commitment, work ethic and positive attitudes throughout their time on the squad.

In front of a packed Athletic Field crowd, Clayton Bretz, Nicholas Grasso, Isaac Hostetter, Seth Rearick, Chris Rougeot, Morris Sayon and Dan Shaffer were honored for their hard work and dedication to Wildcat soccer.
After winning five straight conference championships from 2004 through 2008, the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's soccer team slipped to second last season. Now, it is poised to return to the top.
