Three Women's Volleyball Players Earn All-Conference Honors

Junior Lyndsey Smith (Mechanicsburg/Cumberland Valley), sophomore Tara Powell (Burgettstown) and freshman Samantha Davis (North Apollo/Apollo Ridge) have been named to the Penn State University Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball All-Conference Team. Smith, a setter, and Davis, an outside hitter, earned Second Team honors, while Powell, an outside hitter, was an honorable mention. The team is determined by the coaches of the PSUAC, who nominate and vote on the players. Smith led the team in assists (517) and service aces (58). Davis led the team in kills (150) and blocks (90), and also notched an impressive 30 service aces and 44 digs on the season. Powell had 112 kills, 157 digs and 28 service aces for the year. The Penn College women's volleyball team finished the season 17-7 overall and 14-4 in the PSUAC. They earned a playoff berth and made a run to the semifinals before being defeated by Penn State Fayette.
