Pennsylvania College of Technology freshman Kyle Sunseri (Athens) was named both the Penn State University Athletic Conference and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association "Wrestler of the Week" for theperiod ending Jan. 22. Sunseri went 2-0 at the 141 weight class, earning two pins against Penn State Fayette and Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling team split in its two matches over the past week while the men's and women's basketball teams tasted defeat the men twice and the women once and both of Saturday's scheduled basketball games were postponed due to snow.

In a sense, the Pennsylvania College of Technology archery team is starting over this season. For the first time in more than a decade, it has a new head coach and 12 of the 20 archers on its roster are freshmen. But that doesn't mean it again won't be among the best in the country. Brian Parker succeeds Chad Karstetter at the helm of the Wildcats.

Wrestling once again was the lone bright spot for the Pennsylvania College of Technology last week as the college's basketball teams continued in their rebuilding seasons.

Pennsylvania College of Technology basketball and wrestling teams returned to action following the semester break with the wrestlers winning all three of their matches while the basketball squads found the going tougher.

For the second straight year, funding from the Pfizer Foundation will help the Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball team absorb the cost of traveling to a Spring Break tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Senior Rachel Emmons (Washington, N.J.), sophomore Caleb Wise (Manheim) and freshman Adam Smith (Duncannon) earned United States Collegiate Athletic Association honors when named to the National All-Academic Team for non-USCAA sports. The three were starters on the Penn College tennis team.

Pennsylvania College of Technology, in conjunction with the Penn State University Athletic Conference, has announced the recipients of the Fall 2001 All-Academic Team award. The award is given to student-athletes with a grade-point average of 3.0 or better in the semester of competition.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has named Chris Lemasters the new interim head coach of the men's basketball program. "Chris brings a wealth of experience as botha player and coach to our program," said athletic director Scott Kennell.

With the holiday break behind it, Pennsylvania College of Technology winter sports teams are set to resume their seasons. The men's basketball team hosts NCAA Division III Wilkes University at 7 p.m. Thursday, the women's basketball squad hosts Penn State Fayette at 1 p.m. Saturday and the wrestling team travels to Penn StateBeaver, also at 1 p.m. Saturday.
