Pfizer Foundation Again Funds Wildcats' Trip to Baseball Tournament
Thursday, January 5, 2012
For the second straight year, funding from the Pfizer Foundation will help the Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball team absorb the cost of traveling to a Spring Break tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The $5,000 grant will cover the Wildcats' March 4-10 trip to The Ripken Experience, a training facility affiliated with Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr., where they again will play against colleges from across the country.
"The tournament is used as a tuneup for the season and, with the southern location, allows for the teams to get in some games without the possibility of snow or cold weather," said Jami L. Hughes, coordinator of intercollegiate athletics and sports information.
