Senior Garrett Hornung (Emporium) was named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association and Penn State University Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the period ending April 1. Hornung helped lead the Wildcats to a 6-2 week, batting .583 (14-24) with 11 runs and four RBI.
This past week was the biggest in history for the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's club lacrosse squad, which faced four nationally ranked teams in as many days. In the first game Thursday, the Wildcats jumped out to a 11-5 halftime lead against local rival and #27-ranked Lock Haven University, and held on to win 11-9.

Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball and softball teams went 1-2 against NCAA Division III teams last week as they prepare for the start of Penn State University Athletic Conference action. Despite being a newcomer on the competitive scene, the 2011-12 Penn College dance team won first-place trophies in two recent appearances. On March 17, team members Kelsey A. Coppersmith, Kelly M. Daum, Brandy L. Krause, Samantha L. Lantz, Maggie K. Calkins, Melanie A. Roof, Melina C. Webb, Chelsey R.Whitaker and team assistant Liza J. Pritchyk traveled to Central Mountain High School.
The Penn College Athletic Department held its annual Women in Sports Day on Sunday, drawing a record crowd for the seven-year history of the event. "It was nice to see the very large group of people enjoying our special day," said Lisa J.

In the opener, the Wildcats were held to just three hits.
The Penn State University Athletic Conference announced its all-conference selections for the men's and women's basketball teams Thursday and three Penn College players made the cut.
Freshman Adam Smith (Duncannon) and junior Kierstin Steer (South Williamsport) made the cut for the United States Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic Team for men's and women's basketball. The team is comprised of student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Competing in the National Collegiate Wrestling Association Championships at Daytona Beach, Fla., Pennsylvania College of Technology had two All-Americans in competition that ended Saturday. Also last week, the baseball team went 4-3 and the softball team was 1-5 in season-opening action in South Carolina, and the archery team was outstanding in state indoor competition.
