With a record of 11 wins and three losses, Pennsylvania College of Technology teams continued to roll in their fall sports seasons. FLASHBACK Golf Corey Teeple, of Lake Ariel, medaled with an 82 to help the Wildcats to a first-place finish at the Penn State Lehigh Valley Invitational on Monday.
Reda Vermilya Freshman Reda Vermilya (Turbotville) was named United States Collegiate Athletic Association Goalie of the Week for the period ending Monday. Vermilya did not allow a goal in two games, with the highlight being a 15-save effort against Lycoming College that ended in a 0-0 draw.
The Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s soccer team had a record-setting performance and four of the college’s fall teams posted a combined 5-0-1 record last week. FLASHBACK Women’s Soccer In five previous matches since 2005 against NCAA Division III Lycoming College, Penn College was scoreless and had given up 27 goals.

Tara M. Powell Outside hitter Tara M. Powell, of Burgettstown, was named the Penn State University Athletic Conference women’s volleyball Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 16. In four games, Powell racked up 35 kills and 37 digs for the Wildcats.
The past week was a great one for Pennsylvania College of Technology fall sports teams. Through Sunday, they won nine events and lost just twice, while three of them learned they are ranked among the top 20 in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.

Pennsylvania College of Technology golf and cross-country seasons get under way this week with the golfers at Penn State Lehigh Valley on Tuesday and the runners at Penn State Scranton on Saturday. During action Saturday, the college’s women’s soccer team opened with a win, the men’s soccer team dropped its opener and the women’s volleyball squad lost two matches.
