Tyler C. Myers Penn College junior Tyler C. Myers, of Centre Hall, has been named the Penn State University Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week for the period ending Nov. 11.  In the opening week of the season, Myers went a perfect 5-0, recording all pins in his matches.  This is his first honor of the year.

A tribute to veterans and a Penn College "Blue Out" were among the attractions at Monday's opening night of Wildcat basketball season in Bardo Gym. The evening featured a doubleheader against the University of Pittsburgh-Titusville, starting with the women's game at 6 p.m., a "thunder stick" giveaway and the chance for a student to win a $200 declining-balance meal plan from Dining Services.

In competition last week, the Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling team opened its season, the cross-country team competed in nationals, the women’s volleyball squad had a pleasant surprise ending to its season, and several tennis players and the team’s coach earned all-conference honors.

The Penn College women’s volleyball team has been named co-champions (with Penn State Fayette) of the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

Last week, the fall sports season ended for the Pennsylvania College of Technology soccer teams. This week, seasons should conclude for its women’s volleyball and cross-country squads while the wrestling team steps into action for the first time.

The United States Collegiate Athletic Association announced the members of the All-American and All-Academic teams Thursday night at the men’s and women’s soccer and women’s volleyball championship banquets. Pennsylvania College of Technology teams represented well, with 20 student-athletes getting an honor.

Senior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) and sophomores Caitlyn Curley (Middletown), Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) and Kelly Hebert (Wellsboro) all made the cut in the Penn State University Athletic Conference All-Conference awards for women's volleyball.  Powell, Curley and Gernert were selected to First Team, while Hebert made Second Team.
