It might not have been the finish he was hoping for, but Pennsylvania College of Technology golf coach Matt Haile saw some good things from his team on Tuesday's final day of the Penn State University Athletic Conference/United States Collegiate Athletic Association championships.
Pennsylvania College of Technology honored graduating members from the Wildcat tennis, men's soccer and cross-country teams during Saturday's Homecoming activities. Tennis was honored prior to its match against Penn State Brandywine, while men's soccer and cross-country Senior Days were held during the men's soccer match against Penn State York.
After Monday's first round in the Penn State University Athletic Conference/United States Collegiate Athletic Association championships, Penn College was in ninth place, 44 strokes off the pace of Rochester College in the USCAA portion of the event, and forth in the PSUAC tourney, 20 strokes behind Penn State Mont Alto.
Paced by the women's volleyball team that won four of its five matches, Pennsylvania College of Technology fall sports teams went 8-4 last week, and the golf team, which is entered in the Penn State University Athletic Conference and United States Collegiate Athletic Association championships Monday and Tuesday on the Penn State Blue Course, won in its final tune-up.

When you postpone nearly as many sporting events as you play, you know the weather probably is not cooperating. That was the case last week for Pennsylvania College of Technology teams as they posted nine wins and had one loss in events played, but lost seven others to rain.
Nearly 200 fans dressed in pink Thursday night to support the Penn College Lady Wildcats volleyball team and help raise awareness of breast cancer. The game was sponsored by Health Services and the Off-Campus Housing Organization. OCHO provided fun games and free pink cotton candy to all the fans.
Freshman Melissa Lake (Winburne) was named the Penn State University Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 18. In a 2-0 week for the Wildcats, Lake notched 15 kills, five aces and six digs, including a season-high 14 kills against Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Lake is having a solid rookie season with 65 kills, 14 digs and eight blocks.
