Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology is offering a Getting a Grip on Computers class in October. For those new to computers and the Internet, the noncredit class helps participants become more comfortable with computers, teaching them to create, save, retrieve, modify and resave files utilizing Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Two administrators in Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology have been appointed to assistant vice president positions. Larry L. Through grants from the Central Pennsylvania Workforce Development Corp., Plastics SourceNet administered through the Plastics Manufacturing Center at Pennsylvania College of Technology is administering training and career-awareness activities to benefit central Pennsylvania plastics manufacturers and their employees.

Industry employees from far and wide converged in Penn College's Plastics Manufacturing Center on Tuesday and Wednesday, as the Rotational Molding Center of Excellence held its third hands-on workshop. A renowned technical resource, the course blends classroom training with practical experience on top-level machinery in the Breuder Advanced Technology and Health Sciences Center.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's Plastics Manufacturing Center received grant funding from the Central Pennsylvania Workforce Development Corp. to provide training for Global Standards for Plastics Certification at three regional plastics companies. The grant funding totals $169,200 and will provide training and certification to 141 employees at the three plants.

The Modular Housing Training Institute, part of the Factory Built Housing Center at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has been selected by the Modular Certification Corp. as the preferred educational partner for its modular builder national certification requirement process.
