Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball and softball teams continued their seasons while the men’s tennis team won both of its matches as the season neared a finish. Baseball The Wildcats continued their winning ways, starting off the week April 13 with a doubleheader sweep of Penn State Mont Alto by scores of 9-2 and 10-9.
The Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball team won four of its five games last week while its softball team went 0-2 and men’s tennis squad 1-1. Baseball A two-out, run-scoring double in the bottom of the 11th inning sent the Wildcats to an 8-7 nonconference loss to Marywood University on Sunday.
Pennsylvania College of Technology spring sports athletes competed in just four of 12 scheduled events last week as Mother Nature ruled. Baseball Returning to action after an 11-day layoff and stepping up against NCAA Division II Mansfield University, the Wildcats fell by scores of 7-3 and 19-5 on Tuesday to go to 6-4 overall.
Pennsylvania College of Technology’s first men’s tennis team is set to take to the court Tuesday at Baptist Bible College and coach Robert Kemrer is counting on three returning starters from what previously had been a co-ed team to lead the way. Opening at No. 1 and No. 2 singles for the Wildcats will be either Nathan Scott, of Canton, Conn., or Jordan Rodgers, of Biglerville.
Over the past week for Pennsylvania College of Technology athletes, the wrestling season came to an end and the baseball and softball seasons began. Wrestling Sophomore Dan Frankenfield, of Dushore, finished 4-2 in the 174-pound weight class to lead Penn College wrestlers at the National Collegiate Wrestling Association National Championships in Allen, Texas, Thursday through Saturday.
With the women’s softball season about to begin, six wrestlers headed for national championships and baseball and archery seasons underway, it is a busy time for Pennsylvania College of Technology athletes.
Despite stubborn winter weather, the Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball team will begin its season later this week, while in tournament action Saturday, six Wildcat wrestlers qualified for national championships. Baseball Penn College is coming off its winningest season ever and coach Chris Howard is hopeful of more good things to come.
Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestlers look to qualify for nationals and its archers are set to get their season underway this week. Wrestling Wrestlers step into the first round of national competition Saturday when they host the National Collegiate Wrestling Association Mid-East Conference Championships at Bardo Gymnasium. Action on three mats begins at 9:30 a.m.
Three Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestlers won individual Penn State University Athletic Conference Championships and the team placed third during action Feb. 9 at Penn State’s Rec Hall. Also last week, the men’s and women’s basketball teams closed out their seasons.
As their seasons near a conclusion, Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s and women’s basketball teams continue to show improvement, each posting back-to-back wins for the first time this season, and its wrestlers are fine-tuning for the postseason.
