The Penn College community commended its veterans, active-duty personnel and reservists late last week through a variety of events captured by cross-campus photo contributors.

Thursday's third installment of Penn College's Pride Engagement Series, a faculty/staff development initiative of the Office of People & Culture, featured the art of making pizza with Business & Hospitality. Twenty-five participants learned the components of properly making pizza dough, as well as techniques on how to stretch and throw it.

During a 16-day experience in Italy, 10 Pennsylvania College of Technology students studied the country’s cuisine and hospitality culture through classes with world-class chefs and visits to the farms and factories where well-loved ingredients are produced.

Halloween Time brings everything but "eye of newt and toe of frog" to the witches' brew of seasonal activities at Penn College, as students – in a traditional commingling of the gruesome and the gleeful – enjoyed several days (and nights) of frightful fun.

Students at Pennsylvania College of Technology who spent eight weeks learning about sustainable food systems – including visits to area farms that make the most of their resources – wrapped up their learning with another sustainability concept: food security. The students, all studying culinary arts, learned how they can be a link in the chain that connects food with those who need it.

October is National Physical Therapy Month, and Pennsylvania College of Technology’s physical therapist assistant program has been celebrating through service. As part of UPMC’s first Community Block Party, the students were invited to provide family-friendly activities to promote health and wellness. “Our students were excited to say ‘Yes’ to this event,” said Christine A.

The campus was awhirl with momentum (and momentous events) for Wildcat Weekend, which began Friday afternoon with the inauguration of Michael J. Reed as Penn College's eighth president and didn't wind down until Sunday brunch.
