Students moseyed on over to the Field House on Saturday for a rootin' tootin' night of themed fun at "Wild, Wild Wildcats," organized by Penn College's Office of Student Engagement.

The Gallery at Penn College kicked off its new season this past week with the art, inspiration and activism of metal sculptor Lynden Cline. “We are so fortunate that our visiting artist could share new perspectives on art and the creative process through interactive experiences with students, faculty, staff and the community,” said Penny Griffin Lutz, gallery director.

Penn College's recent Fall Fusion and the Part-Time Job Fair, moved into the Bush Campus Center by inhospitable weather, provided students with ample occasion to get connected or get a job! Participants could learn more about student organizations, campus resources and recreation, and employment prospects.

Four years of arduous training and rigorous study culminated in a recent commissioning ceremony for two Army ROTC cadets at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Kurt M. Maly, of Effort, and Megan Nosker, of DuBois, were commissioned as second lieutenants during an on-campus ceremony. The cadets committed to four years of active duty or eight years in the Army Reserve or National Guard. Kurt M.

The Gallery at Penn College opens its 17th season with an exhibit of steel sculptures and will close the 2022-23 academic year with a regional juried exhibition next summer. Sculptor Lynden Cline’s “Unavoidable Intimacy” is on display Sept. 8 through Oct. 12, featuring an artist talk at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept.

Wednesday's "Taste the World," a redesigned version of the Multicultural Lawn Party, turned the Bush Campus Center patio into a gathering of the global citizens who comprise Penn College. From 11 a.m.-1 p.m., students, faculty and staff enjoyed free food, T-shirts, demonstrations, and arts and crafts – all while being introduced to different cultures, cuisine and more.

An appropriately festive atmosphere pervaded campus on Thursday, as anticipation mounted for that night's premiere of the Penn College episode of "The College Tour." Leading up to the initial showing in the Klump Academic Center Auditorium (and its streaming debut on Amazon Prime shortly thereafter) were a variety of games and other activities from one end of campus to the other.

True to its name, Penn College's Student Engagement Office jams the schedule with activities that connect students to a variety of experiences. Any given day brings the prospect of a learning opportunity or a leadership challenge – and, many times, events that are just plain fun. So it is during "PC3," which begins each new academic year.

Following a pandemic hiatus that seemed to last longer than its comparably brief span, Penn College excitedly welcomed visitors Monday to a campus picnic: the leadoff to the diamond anniversary of the Little League Baseball® World Series (Aug. 17-28).
