RA of the MonthEmily Carella, a residential construction technology and management major from Hawley, was chosen as Resident Assistant of the Month. Students from Pennsylvania College of Technology will offer a pumpkin-carving demonstration competition-style and serve food samples made with fresh, local ingredients during "Customer Appreciation Day" at the Williamsport Outdoor Growers Market on Oct. 22. Phi Mu Delta and Kay Jewelers sold teddy bears and raffled a necklace on Tuesday, raising $800 for St. Jude Children's Hospital. The retailer and fraternity work closely with the hospital, which provides medical care to youngsters with no regard to a family's ability to pay, and collected its sizable donation in a matter of hours outside the Keystone Dining Room. Students in Campus View Apartments sponsored a community-service project Wednesday to help local residents uprooted by recent flooding. The latest in an outpouring of assistance from the Penn College community, the on-campus residents pitched in with different tasks throughout the day, including making "snack packs" and cooking chili.
Pennsylvania College of Technology students, employees and alumni as well as members of the general public are welcome to enter their vehicles in the annual Homecoming Car Show sponsored by the Student Government Association. This year's event, offering prizes in 12 categories, will be held Saturday, Oct. 8, on the college's main campus in Williamsport.
Parent & Family Weekend 2011 offered a variety of activities for Penn College students and their families, including social events, educational workshops, brunch with the president, performances by the Wildcat Dance Team and other entertainment, tethered balloon rides, and trolley tours of Williamsport.
