Monday, September 26, 2011
Pennsylvania College of Technology students, employees and alumni as well as members of the general public are welcome to enter their vehicles in the annual Homecoming Car Show sponsored by the Student Government Association.
This year's event, offering prizes in 12 categories, will be held Saturday, Oct. 8, on the college's main campus in Williamsport.
"The SGA Homecoming Car Show is a great way to help give back to Penn College students," association President Gregory J. Miller said. "All proceeds will benefit the Student Leader Legacy Scholarship Fund, set up to provide financial assistance to student leaders each year."
He added his hopes for nice weather to attract as many people as possible to the scholarship fundraiser, first held in 2007.
On-site registration will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot behind the Field House; signs will direct participants from various campus locations.
Judging will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m., and awards will be presented at 3 p.m. in a dozen classes: '70s-'80s, '90s-present, antique, classic, custom, dirtiest vehicle, exotic, Jeep/SUV, motorcycle, muscle car, sport compact and truck.
Food is included with paid registration $6 for students, $10 for all others and there will be raffles and giveaways.
