Pennsylvania College of Technology's Student Government Association invites the Williamsport community to its Silent Auction from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, in Penn's Inn, located on the second floor of the Bush Campus Center. Items up for bid include packages, artwork, services and various other donations from community businesses and Penn College students, faculty and staff.

A gift from the estate of a longtime school librarian is being used to establish a scholarship fund for students in nursing majors at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The estate of Barbara Oldt has donated more than $224,000 to Penn College to establish the Mary Ellen Horlacher Oldt Nursing Scholarship. Barbara Oldt died in August 2007.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Health Sciences will host a 5K Run/Walk on April 17 to raise scholarship funds for students enrolled in health sciences majors at the college. Faculty and staff from the School of Health Sciences are organizing the event.

The life story of a woman who was killed earlier this year has inspired an employee of Pennsylvania College of Technology to establish a scholarship fund in her memory. Olletta M. Alford was 33 years old when she died of gunshot wounds suffered in a criminal incident in Williamsport in July.

A former professor has taken advantage of a special federal program to establish a scholarship fund at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Patricia J. Rambo, who retired as a professor of business administration in 1994, recently established the Robert and Patricia Shoff Rambo Scholarship. The endowed fund is expected to generate in excess of $1,000 annually for scholarship awards.
