A class project supported by alumni donations has resulted in a new scholarship fund at Pennsylvania College of Technology. One of the options offered to alumni when they receive their annual request for donations to Penn College is to direct their gifts to one of Penn College's eight academic schools.
An annual reception in recognition of scholarship donors and the students who benefitfrom their generosity, featuring a Tropical Delights pastry buffet prepared by School of Hospitality students, was held Sunday afternoon in the Keystone Dining Room.
A contest to select this year's Mardi Gras King and Queen in Williamsport has resulted in a big boost for a scholarship fund at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Mike Morgan, a former Penn College student, won the Mardi Gras King/Queen contest in March as the nominee for Franco's Lounge.

Student organizations at Pennsylvania College of Technology have met a fundraising challenge from the college president, spurring a new challenge to help endow a memorial scholarship fund. Penn College's Student Government Association and several other organizations rose to the challenge from Davie Jane Gilmour to raise $2,000 for the Tracy A. Garis Memorial Scholarship.

A March 31 concert on Pennsylvania College of Technology's main campus in Williamsport will benefit a scholarship fund memorializing a dental hygiene major and student leader. The band Parlance will headline the concert, which is sponsored by Campus Crusade for Christ. It will be held at 7 p.m. on the lawn outside the college's Thompson Professional Development Center.
Franco's Lounge in downtown Williamsport will host a Pasta Party from 4-9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, to benefit the Daniele Family Scholarship Fund at Penn College. The event will feature three kinds of pasta, three different sauces, bread, salad and sausage at a cost of $20 per person. Franco's employees are volunteering their time and gratuities in support of the scholarship.
