The organization representing full-time faculty, librarians and counselors at Pennsylvania College of Technology is further supporting students at the college by establishing an endowed scholarship fund. The Penn College Education Association Scholarship Fund will generate at least two awards each year, one each for a male student and a female student.

In a learning opportunity for Pennsylvania College of Technology students and a benefit for scholarship funds, the college will host a "California Food and Wine Pairing" event, featuring a gourmet "California fusion" menu created by students in the School of Hospitality, paired with selections from the Eberle Winery in Paso Robles, Calif.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Health Sciences will host a 5K Walk/Run on Oct. 8 as part of the college's Homecoming festivities. Net proceeds from the race will support the School of Health Sciences Endowed Scholarship Fund, which benefits the school's students. A Pennsylvania College of Technology student who died in June will be memorialized through a scholarship fund at the college. The Luke James Haefner Memorial Scholarship Fund will be open to residents of Lycoming County who are full-time students in Penn College's information technology sciences-gaming and simulation bachelor-degree major.

Four Pennsylvania College of Technology students will receive scholarship awards of $3,000 each, thanks to The John Deere Foundation. Tyler S. Caldwell, of Manchester; Micah E. Hoover, of Souderton; Derek T. Ban, of Charlotte, N.C.; and Justin T. Nupp, of South Williamsport, are the recipients of awards from the John Deere Foundation Scholarship for 2011-12.

A Loyalsock Township High School senior who has been active in community service projects throughout her high school years is the 2011 recipient of the Peggy Madigan Memorial Leadership Scholarship at Pennsylvania College of Technology. A selection committee chose Niesha J. Williams to receive this year's award for the scholarship named in memory of the late wife of former state Sen. Roger A.

A local business leader has established an endowed scholarship fund at Pennsylvania College of Technology in memory of his father and in honor of his mother. Frank Pellegrino, executive vice president of PRIMUS Technologies Corp., Williamsport, recently made a gift to the Penn College Foundation to establish the John Joseph and Eva Girio Pellegrino Scholarship Fund.

A key figure in the development of Pennsylvania College of Technology and his wife have established a scholarship fund at the college. Former State Rep. Alvin C. Bush and his wife, Elizabeth, have established the Alvin Bush Family Scholarship at Penn College.

Pennsylvania College of Technologyon Friday presented a bachelor's degree posthumously to a 20-year-old student from Hellertown who died in a traffic accident last year. Tracy A. Garis was an active campus leader, enrolled in the college's dental hygiene program at the time of her death. She served as a Resident Assistant and Student Ambassador for the college.
