The legacy of a well-respected assistant professor of architecture technology will continue at Pennsylvania College of Technology through a new scholarship fund established in his memory. The executors of the estate of the late William H. Ealer have signed an agreement with the Penn College Foundation establishing the William H. Ealer Scholarship Fund.
Fundraising efforts by Pennsylvania College of Technology's Student Government Association have resulted in another scholarship award for a returning student. Justin A. Ball, of Sandy Ridge, accepted the Student Leader Legacy Scholarship award at the 2008-09 Student Activities Awards Banquet on April 29. Ball is a graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola Senior High School.
Seven-time PGA Tour winner Joey Sindelar will be the visiting pro at the Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation's 23rd Annual Spring Golf Classic on Monday, May 11, at the Williamsport Country Club. Net proceeds from the event will benefit the Penn College Foundation Golf Classic Scholarship.
A family known for its popular businesses in downtown Williamsport will be providing financial-aid support for students in Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Hospitality. Siblings Maria, Fred and Francis Daniele have established the Daniele Family Scholarship Fund at Penn College. The endowed fund will be a permanent source of scholarship awards for students.
Pennsylvania College of Technology will host a renowned Washington, D.C., chef and restaurateur in February as part of its Visiting Chef Series. The series invites accomplished chefs to the college's campus to mentor and work alongside students in the college's School of Hospitality over several days, culminating in the elaborate Visiting Chef dinner to benefit scholarship funds.
The Gallery at Penn College, on the third floor of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Madigan Library, will host "Exalting Everyday Elements," a collection of paintings by David Armstrong, from Dec. 2-17. This popular exhibit returns to the gallery for a third year with a new selection of Armstrong's original works.
A Camp Hill firm has established an endowed scholarship fund targeting students in the heavy construction equipment technology, surveying technology and civil engineering technology majors at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Liberty Excavators Inc. recently presented a check for $25,000 to fully endow the Liberty Excavators Inc. Fund at Penn College.
