Penn College is spotlighted in a fresh post to Infobase's website, which features an interview with Madigan Library's Jessica U. Oberlin. The library subscribes to the company's Films on Demand database, offering instructional access to streaming videos from such acclaimed networks as PBS, National Geographic and the BBC.

A color rendering of the Hager Lifelong Education Center’s “loop” previews a now-familiar vantage from West Third Street. The drawing was provided to the archives by late administrator William Homisak. A caddy for electronic tubes harks back to when TVs were too cumbersome to be repaired off-site, so technicians carried the tubes on house calls.

Backyard Broadcasting's "In Touch With Freddi Hammer" featured a tour of Madigan Library's "Hometown Teams" exhibit, a collaboration with the Smithsonian Institution and the World of Little League Museum, in its July 21 edition. Hammer visited campus in mid-July, talking with library director Tracey Amey and Lance Van Auken, the museum's executive director.

"Hometown Teams: How Sports Shape America" – a collaboration among the Smithsonian Institution, the World of Little League Museum and Penn College – kicked off a 10-week local engagement Sunday with a public reception on the first floor of Madigan Library. The engaging showcase is part of the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street program, which enlists rural partners in hosting traveling exhibits.

Baseball, soccer, hockey, bowling, kickball and surfing are among the competitive sports that draw participants from around the country and world. Still more gather on the sidelines to cheer for their favorite athletes and teams. Nowhere do Americans more intimately connect to sports than in their hometowns.

Veronica M. Muzic, whose dedicated service as a faculty member and administrator is tightly woven through 50 years of college history, died Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at the age of 82. Muzic joined Williamsport Area Community College as an English instructor in 1968 and was awarded its first “Master Teacher” award in 1982.

With extra layers of art outreach, The Gallery at Penn College is hosting a unique exhibit titled “The Hundred Dresses Project: We Are All in This Together,” set for June 4 through July 23. A Meet the Artist Reception will be held Thursday, June 6, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with a gallery talk at 5:30 p.m. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.
