Since ancient times, geometric perfection has been thought to convey sacred and secular truths by reflecting the fractal interconnections of the natural world. The artists in “Geometric Aljamía: A Cultural Transliteration” explore geometry as a fundamental aspect of art and as a way to communicate universal ideas across cultures. The mixed-media exhibition is on display Oct. 25 through Dec.

The Gallery at Penn College kicked off its new season this past week with the art, inspiration and activism of metal sculptor Lynden Cline. “We are so fortunate that our visiting artist could share new perspectives on art and the creative process through interactive experiences with students, faculty, staff and the community,” said Penny Griffin Lutz, gallery director.

The Student & Administrative Services Center at Pennsylvania College of Technology will soon bear the name of retiring President Davie Jane Gilmour. The college’s Board of Directors convened a special meeting to approve the action at a gala event honoring Gilmour’s 24-year presidency. The board also granted emeritus status to Gilmour, who retires June 30.

Sure to be a big hit, an exhibition in The Gallery at Penn College is celebrating a true summertime classic. “A Diamond Anniversary: A Celebration of 75 Years of the Little League Baseball® World Series” will run June 7 through Aug. 25 in the gallery on the third floor of The Madigan Library at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Hours will be: 10 a.m.

Thirteen students of Karen R. Ruhl, horticulture instructor and last year's recipient of a Part-Time Teaching Excellence Award, recently completed their final projects at the Schneebeli Earth Science Center – all in one day of real-time accomplishment – and displayed them at The Madigan Library. Family, friends and faculty poured into The Gallery at Penn College late Friday afternoon to view the design work of 11 graphic design seniors. Graphic Design 2022 shines a spotlight on the near-graduates’ four years of dedicated work and serves up a celebratory reception, complete with sweet and savory hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. The talents of 11 graphic design seniors at Pennsylvania College of Technology will be in the spotlight with “Graphic Design 2022,” the annual student portfolio exhibition in The Gallery at Penn College, April 26 through May 6. A reception will be celebrated 4 to 6 p.m. (with remarks at 5 p.m.) on Friday, April 29, in the gallery on the third floor of The Madigan Library.

A cheerful woodland creature – complete with small birds, frogs and turtles – was crafted by Sydney M. Telesky, a human services & restorative justice student from Milton.
