Two Penn College instructors were among participants in a three-day I-CAR instructor qualification workshop on main campus Oct. 22-24. Eric D. Pruden, instructor of automotive technology; and Roy Klinger, adjunct faculty member in collision repair, attended thetraining in the College Avenue Labs.

Janet McMahon, associate professor of nursing at Pennsylvania College of Technology,was selected to evaluate questions for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. She will travel to Chicago to serve on the Master Pool, reviewing the pool of questions that will be on the 2005 NCLEX-RN exam. "It's a big deal," McMahon said.

Pennsylvania College of Technology and Caterpillar Inc. have presented the second annual "Pathfinder to Excellence" faculty award to an instructor of diesel equipment technology. Scott B. Appleman received the award during a gathering of Caterpillar officials and dealers at the College.

The dean of Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Construction and Design Technologies has been named to a national organization committed to maintaining the quality of technicians in the heating-ventilation-air conditioning/refrigeration industry.

In response to an overwhelming interest in Professional Development's Leadership Series, the session dates have been changed. The first session will start Nov. 5, with the remainder of the sessions on Nov. 12, Dec. 10, Jan. 28, Feb. 4, April 1, April 29 and May 13.

It's hard to believe, but the semester really is half over! During Fall Break on Oct. 15, those people remaining on campus will have the opportunity to attend a wide variety of Professional Development sessions.

Penn College faculty and staff are reminded that the Employee Assistance Program has resources that may be somewhat useful to flood victims.
