Mark A. Trueman has been named director of the paramedic program at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Trueman has been an instructor at Penn College since 2000. In addition to teaching in the college's School of Health Sciences, he is employed part time with Susquehanna Health System as a staff paramedic and is a volunteer member of the Trout Run Fire Co. He also volunteers his time to instruct continuing-education courses throughout the Lycoming, Tioga and Sullivan County EMS region. In May, Trueman was named "Instructor of the Year" for Lycoming County by the Lycoming County Department of Public Safety.
Previously, Trueman taught at the Williamsport Hospital and Medical Center's Paramedic Training Institute, which transitioned to the current Penn College program.
"The paramedic program is based on over 25 years of tradition, and I am honored to be named the director of this prestigious program within emergency medical services," Trueman said. "I look forward to continuing the tradition of producing a high-quality graduate by offering the participant a cutting-edge curriculum, facility and clinical experience."
Trueman earned a bachelor's degree from Lock Haven University and a certificate from the Williamsport Hospital and Medical Center's Paramedic Training Institute.
