A poster designed in-house for a 2009 faculty lecture at Pennsylvania College of Technology was awarded first prize by the National Association for Campus Activities at its recent regional convention in Lancaster. The winning artwork for last year's lecture in the David London My Last Words series was created by Jennifer A.

Keeping his audience spellbound with a stunningly creative blend of storytelling, wit, stage presence and music not to mention an effective use of props David S. Sims shared a hypothetically valedictory message as this year's speaker in The David London My Last Words lecture series.

The healthful benefits of outdoor recreation will be shared by Dennis F. Ringling, a forestry professor at Pennsylvania College of Technology, during the Fall 2010 Madigan Library Forum. The free, public forum, "Let Nature Nurture Your Health," will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, in the second-floor reading loft. Light refreshments will be served.

David Kay has been named vice president for college services at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Kay, who had been assistant vice president for human resources, began his new duties at the college on Sept. 1.

Eugene M. McAvoy has been named dean of academic services and first year programs at Pennsylvania College of Technology. McAvoy, who had served as assistant dean of integrated studies-programs for a year, will be succeeded in that position by Joanna K. Pruden.
