Friday, October 22, 2010
A poster designed in-house for a 2009 faculty lecture at Pennsylvania College of Technology was awarded first prize by the National Association for Campus Activities at its recent regional convention in Lancaster.
The winning artwork for last year's lecture in the David London My Last Words series was created by Jennifer A. George, student development information specialist, and entered in the category featuring multicolor promotional posters or fliers from within member institutions.
The 2010 NACA Mid-Atlantic Graphic Arts Competition was designed to share outstanding material prepared in support of a variety of campus programs. George's winning entry was unveiled at the association's Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference, held Oct. 14-17 at the Lancaster Host Resort & Conference Center.
Students, staff and faculty at NACA member schools in the Mid-Atlantic region (Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, D.C.) who fashion promotional posters, fliers, announcements and other materials were invited to participate. George's entry was judged on the basis of design, creativity, clarity of content and eye-catching appeal, and how well the piece met the needs and level of user-friendliness, according to contest guidelines.
Established in 1960, NACA comprises more than 1,000 member colleges and universities and nearly 650 associate members who represent artists, lecturers and performers.
