Faculty Member Named to 'Who's Who of American Women'

Joan E. SchellJoan E. Schell, assistant professor of English composition at Pennsylvania College of Technology, was selected for inclusion in the 2010-11 Edition of "Who's Who of American Women."

The 2010-11 Edition, which was released by Marquis Who's Who in September, contains the biographies of approximately 40,000 notable American women, featuring personal and career histories, education, achievements and memberships.

A Williamsport native, Schell holds a bachelor's degree from Lycoming College and a master's degree from Mills College, in Oakland, Calif. She was hired part time at Penn College forerunner Williamsport Area Community College in 1984 and has been teaching full time at the college since 1990.

Since 1990, she has earned summer graduate certificates from Worcester College at Oxford University and from Emmanuel College at Cambridge University.
