The scholarship is awarded each fall to a second-year student in an electronics major that emphasizes laser optics or fiber optics. The recipient is chosen based on scholastic achievement, dedication and leadership.

Pennsylvania College of Technology student Kathryn L. Hildenberger has been awarded the David Pickelner Memorial Scholarship for 2005-06. Hildenberger, of Kensington, Md., is a junior in the college's electronics engineering technology bachelor-degree major.

Michael R. Bloom, a sophomore electronics engineering technology student at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has earned the Central Keystone Section of the Instrumentation, Systems and Automation Society Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student entering his or her second year of study in electronics with an industrial process control emphasis.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has decided to construct a contemporary building that suits its specific needs rather than renovate the existing structure at the former BiLo property on West Fourth Street in Williamsport.
