A Williamsport man who established a scholarship at Pennsylvania College of Technology last year recently added to the fund. Ryan A. English presented a check to Penn College to add to the Marcellus Measurement Scholarship Fund, which is growing toward endowment. Once the fund reaches endowment level, it will become a perennial source of scholarship funds.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has been awarded a $570,422 federal grant for 2012-13 in support of a variety of academic programs. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education through the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the Perkins Local Plan Grant seeks to help develop the skills of secondary and postsecondary education students enrolled in career and technical-education programs.

Ninth- and 10th-grade students explored "Electronics and the Future!" during a recent four-day, three-night camp at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The campers seven girls and 16 boys took part in a variety of hands-on workshops in the college's electronics and computer engineering technology labs, as well as in advanced manufacturing majors that play a role in electronics production.

The positive experience of working with faculty and students at Pennsylvania College of Technology has inspired a Williamsport man to start an endowed scholarship fund at the college. Ryan A. English has presented a check to Penn College to establish the Marcellus Measurement Scholarship Fund.
