Effective Monday, Feb. 9, the exterior doors behind the gymnasium from the Hager Lifelong Education Center lobby will be closed. Access to the rear doors of the gymnasium from the LEC lobby will be maintained. In addition, demolition in the first-floor area of the former library will commence early next week.

Due to financial constraints, River Valley Transit has announced that the free College Town student shuttle will not resume in January. The late-night service, which made a variety of stops throughout the campus community from 8 p.m.-2:10 a.m., ended Dec. 5.

The Gallery at Pennsylvania College of Technology has rescheduled a talk by artist Brian Bishop for 3:30 p.m. Dec. 5 in Room 1056 of the college's Student and Administrative Services Center. Bishop originally was scheduled to offer talks during the opening reception for his gallery show titled "" in October, but heavy snow in eastern Pennsylvania prevented his arrival on campus.

Two of Penn College's recent Students of the Month were among Thursday's honorees at Williamsport City Hall, where they were received by Mayor Gabriel J. Campana and officially introduced during the City Council meeting. Among those honoredduring the College Town portion of the evening were Jessica L. With a contentious presidential election just weeks away and voters hotly agreeing to disagree with those who don't share their preference among the candidates, Pennsylvania College of Technology's Madigan Library is hoping to inject some civility into the personal issue of political opinion. Penn College students may claim a free ticket for Williamsport Symphony Orchestra concerts by stopping at the Community Arts Center box office with their student ID. The opening concert, "Passion for the Slavic Soul,"is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Arts Center. Subsequent concerts this semester are Saturday, Nov. 15, and Tuesday, Dec. 9.

The Student Activities Office is organizing a new community-service project this winter called Operation Snowflake. Student organizations will sign up to sponsor a week during the winter months. If it snows during that week, the organization's members will shovel the walks of elderly citizens and alumni in the area.

"Show Your Colors" is the theme for this year's Homecoming celebration at Pennsylvania College of Technology; a variety of activities from a comedian and a car show to athletic events and networking receptions are scheduled from Oct. 8-12. The public is invited to a number of Homecoming events: a flag football game at 9 p.m. Oct. 8 on the Athletic Field; a women's volleyball game at 7 p.m. Oct.

"Not for Sale," a lecture calling for an end to the international tragedy of human trafficking, will be held Thursday, Oct. 2, on the main campus of Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport. Sponsored by the college's Cultural Life Committee, a partnership to promote and recognize diversity and social justice, the program will be held at 7 p.m.
