A Pennsylvania College of Technology student competed on a team that finished second in the recent "All-Star Bowl" competition at the 2002 Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society's International Student Games in Chicago.
Four students in the Plastics and Polymer Engineering Technology bachelor-degree major at Pennsylvania College of Technology have been chosen to receive $1,500 scholarships from the Plastics Pioneers Association, a society of industry leaders. The Technology Transfer Center at Pennsylvania College of Technology will offer a series of seven hatha yoga asana practice sessions Nov. 26 through Dec. 19. The free sessions, which will be held on the stage of the Klump Academic Center auditorium, will be offered from 4:45 to 6:15 p.m. on Nov. 26 and Dec. 3, 10, 12, 17 and 19. The session on Saturday, Dec. 14, will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
"Holidays 2002," a floral design show held recently at Pennsylvania College of Technology, raised nearly $1,300 for student scholarships while providing audience members with an opportunity to learn decorating techniques from floral-design professionals.

The North Central Chapter of the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association recently provided a gift of $2,000 to Pennsylvania College of Technology. The chapter, which includes Bradford, Clinton, Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga and Union counties, represents trucking firms that hire many graduates from the Diesel Technology programs offered at Penn College.
Nearly 300 students have petitioned to graduate in Pennsylvania College of Technology's December Commencement ceremonies, scheduled for 11 a.m. Dec. 21 at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport. Dale A. Metzker, recipient of the 2002 Master Teacher Award the highest honor awarded to a member of the Penn College faculty will deliver the commencement address.
A team of Construction Management students from Pennsylvania College of Technology took first place in the "Design/Build" category in the 13th Annual Associated Schools of Construction Region One Construction Management Competition held recently in New Jersey.
Ewald Notter, award-winning "sugar artist," will return to Pennsylvania College of Technology on Nov. 18-20 this time to work with School of Hospitality students and offer demonstrations showcasing his chocolate artistry for Penn College alumni and area pastry chefs. The Associated Landscape Contractors of America granted accreditation recently to the Landscape/Nursery Technology program at Pennsylvania College of Technology. ALCA recognizes schools that have landscape-contracting curricula that meet or exceed industry standards.
