Monday night at Marywood University, the first of three NCAA Division III teams it is scheduled to play this week, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's basketball team won, 75-73, in overtime. Penn College opened a 26-5 lead at the start of the game and led by 11 at halftime. But the host Pacers battled back to tie the game at the end of regulation and send the contest into overtime.

The automotive technology management major at Pennsylvania College of Technology already among a mere handful of such four-year programs in the country has joined similarly elite company with accreditation by the National Association of Industrial Technology. NAIT's accrediting board recently voted in St. Louis to add Penn College to the list of approved bachelor-degree programs.

Pennsylvania College of Technology student Austin M. Upright has been awarded four separate scholarships for the 2005-06 academic year. Upright, Montoursville, plans to graduate in May 2006 with associate degrees in civil engineering technology and surveying technology. In May 2005, he earned an associate degree from Penn College in computer-aided drafting technology.

A mass media communications major from Columbia County is this year's winner among students who submitted public-service videosurging intelligent decisions about the use of alcohol and other substances.
