Pennsylvania College of Technology has received a prestigious honor from an international awards program for an innovative CD-ROM it produced for marketing purposes. The CD-ROM, "This is the Real World," earned the College a "Crystal Award of Excellence" in the "Multi-Media/Interactive CD-ROM" category of the Communicator Awards 2001.

A faculty member in the School of Business and Computer Technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology was elected recently to the board of directors of the International Society of Travel & Tourism Educators. Paul W. Howe, assistant professor of business administration/travel and tourism, will serve a two-year term on the ISTTE board.
Dr. Lawrence J. Fryda has been named dean of the School of Industrial and Engineering Technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Fryda, who will begin his duties at Penn College in January, was selected after a nationwide search.
Jennifer McLean began her duties recently as Pennsylvania College of Technology's director of instructional technology and distance learning. McLean, who was raised in the Chicago suburbs, earned bachelor's degrees in English and biology from Augustana College, Rock Island, Ill., and a master's degree in public health from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Pennsylvania College of Technology recently named Dr. John J. Kehoe as its director of strategic planning and research. Kehoe, a New Jersey native, comes to Penn College from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, where he was a higher-education research analyst responsible for a number of statewide programs and initiatives under the deputy secretary for postsecondary and higher education.
