A free showing of "The End of America," billed as a "chilling indictment of sweeping policy changes" after 9/11, is among this month's scheduled Constitution Week activities at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Based on The New York Times best-seller by Naomi Wolf, the film alleges that the use of paramilitary groups, secret prisons and the targeted suspension of the rule of law places U.S.

Pennsylvania College of Technology held several dedication events over the weekend for its Stage X Building Program. Ceremonies took place Friday in the renovated and expanded Avco-Lycoming Metal Trades Center and the Parkes Automotive Technology Center (both facilities were open to the public Saturday) and in the science labs of the Hager Lifelong Education Center.

More than 300 students attended Tuesday's first Part-Time Job Fair, sponsored by the Earn and Learn Program through Career Services. Participating local employers had approximately 100 positions to offer students, including jobs in retail, business and industry, and childcare/preschool.

A total of 1,914 fans, attending the Williamsport Crosscutters' annual Penn College "Pack the Park Night" at Bowman Field on Thursday, saw a 9-5 victory against the visiting Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

A variety of Greek Week activities, geared toward recreation and recruitment alike, spotlighted the campus and community contributions of Penn College's fraternities and sororities. The annual observance included a "Grillin' With the Greeks" event on Monday, followed the next night by a "Color Wars" turf battle in which participants pelted one another with paint-soaked sponges. The Vine Avenue Block Party, held annually for off-campus students as part of Student Activities' PC3 initiative, was hosted Thursday night by Penn College's three Community Assistants (Kattie Heisey, Kyle Mabry and Corey Shank). The Cell Block's Zack Lee was guest DJ, and participants were treated to pizza, wings and kegs of birch beer.

"Night of 1,000 Games Part 2" took place Wednesday at Rose Street Commons, where more than 200 students played Plinko and took part in an obstacle course to try to win an LCD TV. To qualify, participants had to throw a ringer in horseshoes, get a washer in the box and toss a ping-pong ball into a cup.

About 350 people attended the fifth annual Fall FIESTA (Friends, Involvement, Employment and Socializing on a Tuesday Afternoon) from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on the ATHS mall. Sixty-five vendors representing campus organizations and offices offering involvement and employment opportunities, community agencies and churches were on hand to enlighten participants.

The dog days of summer took on a new meeting at Pennsylvania College of Technology on Aug. 18, when a unique icebreaker united first-year students with employees and their dogs. Held on the Rose Street Commons, "Hot Dog, You're Here!" provided the opportunity for faculty and staff to welcome and engage new students over the common ground of pet ownership, conversation and free food.

Pennsylvania College of Technology again was a home-field favorite with its community outreach for the start of the Little League Baseball World Series. A college-hosted cookout for the 16 series teams – as well as coaches, team uncles, umpires and other guests – was held on the lawn outside the Bush Campus Center.
