Franco's Lounge in downtown Williamsport will host a Pasta Party from 4-9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, to benefit the Daniele Family Scholarship Fund at Penn College. The event will feature three kinds of pasta, three different sauces, bread, salad and sausage at a cost of $20 per person. Franco's employees are volunteering their time and gratuities in support of the scholarship.

Pennsylvania College of Technology hosted the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Tech Challenge North Central Pennsylvania Regional Qualifier, a robotics competition for students in grades 7-12, on its campus Feb. 5.

Pennsylvania College of Technology students will use Harry Potter as the inspiration for their three-tier cake designs during the college's sixth-annual cake competition. Following judging, the students' cakes will be displayed for the public from 1-3 p.m. March 3 and from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. March 4 in the Mountain Laurel Room of the Thompson Professional Development Center.

A lunchtime artist's talk and evening reception opened an automotive-inspired exhibit of sculptures and paintings by Jeff Mann that combine environmental and aesthetic sensibilities.

Groups of high schoolers from six states convened in Penn College's College Avenue Labs on Feb. 5 for the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Tech Challenge North Central Pennsylvania Regional Qualifier, which tested the students' engineering know-how in a robot-against-robot competition stadium.

Sexual Responsibility Week, sponsored by Student Health Services, will be held from Feb. 14-18 at various locations across campus. A complete schedule of events for the week which kicks off next Monday in the lobbies of the Bush Campus Center, Hager Lifelong Education Center and Breuder Advanced Technology and Health Sciences Center is available online.

This week marks the beginning of Black History Month. Student Activities' full lineup of events includes a Town Hall discussion on the impact of rap music, the Cure the Blues music festival, movie screenings of Tyler Perry's "For Colored Girls" and much more. From noon-2 p.m. Thursday, Penn College hosted Katharine "Kat" Kan, a recognized expert selector and reviewer of graphic novels.

"That Takes Ovaries," relating real-life stories from courageous women the world over, was held Monday in Penn's Inn.

The Gallery at Penn College, on the third floor of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Madigan Library, will host "Auto Response," an exhibit of sculptures and paintings by artist Jeff Mann, from Feb. 8 to March 4. Mann's current work is informed by what he considers to be the single greatest American icon: the car.
