A mandatory meeting of Penn College's coed bowling team will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, in the Field House. Members who were announced Thursday on the basis of tryouts earlier in the week should contact Lisa Worth, bowling adviser (by calling ext. 7860 or by e-mail), if unable to attend.

On Friday, Sept. 24, Penn College hosted an Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate ConferenceInvitational Tournament at White Deer Golf Course in Allenwood.Penn College extended its win steak to 55, with 10 wins this year. The medalist for the tournament was Brandon Smith (Wellsboro), who shot a one-over-par 73.

The Penn College Golf Team began this year's season whereit left off with a win. Shaun McQuay, a Warrior Run graduate, was the medalist in Thursday's tournament at Green Pond Golf Course in Bethlehem. Penn College shot 306 to finish in first place over Luzerne Community College at 324.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology tennis team is coming off an unbeaten spring season during which it won the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference championship. And even though it is entering a new league, coach Charlie Baum expects more of the same.

Pennsylvania College of Technology golf coach Chet Schuman is not sure that this season's team will match the accomplishments of last year's undefeated championship squad, but he is sure of one thing: Their attitude is good.

During her first three years as coach of the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team, Bambi Hawkins saw slow but steady improvement. Last season, the Lady Wildcats turned the corner by posting their first winning season ever, 10-5, and reaching the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference playoffs for the first time.

Coach Mike Paulhamus enters his fifth season at the helm of the Pennsylvania College of Technology cross country teams with a men's squad that looks for continued success and a women's squad that is rebuilding.

During last year's regular season, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's soccer team breezed past Luzerne County Community College twice, scoring shutouts each time. So, when it met Luzerne in the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference playoff semifinals one would have expected the same result. But the tables were turned, and Penn College went out of the playoffs, a 2-0 loser.

In most college athletic programs, freshmen seldom work their way into the starting lineup. Not so for the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's soccer team. In fact, they are counted on heavily. "With no more than six or seven returnees each season, the quality of our freshmen players tends to make or break the team," said coach Andy Richardson. Last season was a good example.
