William H. Feddersen, a former president of Williamsport Area Community College, a predecessor institution of Pennsylvania College of Technology, died March 4 at the age of 84. Feddersen served as WACC president from 1974-80. He established the Dr. Bill Feddersen Leadership Scholarship Fund at Penn College in 2011.

In accordance with the U.S. flag code, Gov. Josh Shapiro ordered U.S. and Commonwealth flags on all Commonwealth facilities, public buildings and grounds across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to fly at half-staff to recognize the tragic shooting at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York and in honor of West York Borough Police Officer Andrew Duarte, who died in the line of duty.

The coming days are expected to bring active winter weather systems our way, so it's a good time for the campus community to revisit Penn College's emergency guidelines.

Funeral services are scheduled on Monday, Feb. 10, for Dr. Rev. Frederick Lee Bierly, who taught computer science at Penn College's predecessor institution, Williamsport Area Community College.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Board of Directors has approved actions involving two members of President’s Cabinet.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology Board of Directors on Thursday approved the hiring of a vice president for finance/CFO and the promotion of another member of President’s Cabinet. The board also heard a presentation from the Penn College Diesel Performance Club.

Stanley G. Boler, a retired Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty member, died Dec. 15 at the age of 78. A funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, in Spencer, Indiana. Boler retired from Penn College in 2012 as an associate professor of electronics. He joined the college faculty in 1987.

The annual Poinsettia Sale at Penn College’s Schneebeli Earth Science Center greenhouse begins on Monday, Dec. 9. Sale hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday while the inventory lasts. (The center is closed Saturday and Sunday.) According to the greenhouse elves, a variety of colors are available. Small poinsettias are $8, with large ones priced at $10.

Nearly 290 students have petitioned to graduate following the Fall 2024 semester at Pennsylvania College of Technology. A commencement ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Community Arts Center. The ceremony, which will be livestreamed, is open to students who are registered to participate and ticketed guests; 188 students are expected to march.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 25, for Patricia J. Rambo, a retired Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty member and recipient of the Master Teacher Award. Rambo died Nov. 19, at the age of 85. The service will begin at 11 a.m. at Greenview Alliance Church, 1955 Warrensville Road, Montoursville. Visitation is set for 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street, Montoursville.
