This year's holiday card-decorating winners were announced atthe Dec. 1lighting ceremony outside the ATHS. The American Welding Society won first prize among student groups, followed by Phi Beta Lambda and, in a tie for third, Campus Crusade for Christ and the Student Government Association.
A presentation by William S. Parsons, chief of staff of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, in the ACC Auditorium. Parsons, a 1967 graduate of Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa,will discuss"Remembering the Past for the Sake of the Future." The program, co-sponsored with Lycoming College, is free and open to the public.
The Gallery at Penn College on the main campus of Pennsylvania College of Technology will host the artwork of faculty member Patrick Murphy from Dec. 2-17. An opening reception for the exhibit, "Recent Works," will take place Thursday, Dec. 2, from 3:30 to 6 p.m., with an artist's talk scheduled at 4 p.m.
A new economic impact study released this week positions Penn State as the single largest contributor to the state's economy an engine of 24 campuses generating $6.14 billion annually in direct net economic impact to the commonwealth. Pennsylvania College of Technology is a major cog in that engine, with a total impact of more than $455 million alone at the 6,358-student campus.
