By Jim Carpenter, sports information writer Over the years, Pennsylvania College of Technology athletic teams have had their share of success, but nothing has come close to matching the achievements of fall 2004. For the first time ever, the College fielded eight fall sports teams. All of them reached the post-season playoffs, with five claiming 11 championships.

A Forest Technology alumnus' impressive finish in this year's Stihl Timbersports Collegiate Invitational has resulted in a $1,000 donation to the Forestry Club at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Derek P. Bailey of New Tripoli, who graduated from Penn College in May, placed fifth overall during the Aug.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has begun the final phase of its project to replace Social Security numbers as the primary identifier. Beginning Jan. 1, the College will use PCT ID numbers to identify students, faculty and staff. New identification cards bearing the PCT ID are being distributed to the entire campus population.

An associate professor at Pennsylvania College of Technology who has integrated computer- and Web-based technology into his classes has been nominated by the College's Council of Deans for two awards to be presented at the 16th International Conference on College Teaching and Learning. A "Custom Made Quilt," displayed in the hallway outside the Children's Learning Center, was just one of the highlights of the annual "Parent Appreciation Day" on Friday, Dec. 3. The quilt project was developed by Regina Andes, assistant group leader in The Bird's Nest.

During the annual "House for a Home" fund-raiser on Dec. 3, School of Hospitality students at Pennsylvania College of Technology will donate the result of six weeks of lab work to help Williamsport/Lycoming Habitat for Humanity. Chocolate houses, made by students in the Principles of Chocolate Works course, will be sold in a silent auction during the school's annual Food Show.
