A Landscape/Nursery Technology student at Pennsylvania College of Technology has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET). Lisa A. Beehler, Williamsport, won the Chapel Valley/Reeve Family Scholarship during the recent ?Student Career Days? held March 19-22 at the University of Maryland.

Two graphic communications students at Pennsylvania College of Technology were awarded $2,000 scholarships recently from the Flexographic Technical Association. Mark A. Blanchard, Watsontown, and John R. Yogodzinski III, Harvey's Lake RR 1, were selected from more than 40 applicants during the Flexographic Technical Association Annual Forum held in Orlando, Fla.

The next session of "Project Choice" a free program at Pennsylvania College of Technology that provides assistance for adults considering a career change will begin Monday, April 11. Offered by the Counseling, Career and Disability Services Office at Penn College, Project Choice provides comprehensive career exploration for anyone wishing to forge a new career path.

Chef John D. Folse, a worldwide ambassador for Cajun and Creole cooking, will return to Pennsylvania College of Technology to prepare the Distinguished Visiting Chef Series dinner on Saturday, April 9. The dinner, which costs $125 per guest, will begin at 7 p.m. at the College's Le Jeune Chef Restaurant. Net proceeds will be used for annual scholarship awards and endowed scholarship funds.

The Gallery at Penn College on the main campus of Pennsylvania College of Technology will host "cuba . . . on the street," a collection of photographs by Rolfe Ross, from April 1-29. The gallery will offer viewing hours from 6 to 8 p.m. April 1 in conjunction with Williamsport's First Friday event.

Students at Penn College's Lumley Aviation Center in Montoursvillehad an opportunity to view two helicopters on Thursday. An MD 500 from AGROTORS Inc. in Gettysburg (left) visited before resuming power-line inspections for PPL. The pilot spoke about the helicopter's maneuverability, uses and maintenance issues.

On Wednesday night, the Student Government Association announced the results fromlast week's four-day online election. "We had an outstanding turnout, with nearly 10 percentof the student body voting this year − up from only 2 percentlast year," noted Joshua Appleman, SGA's academic vice president and election chair.
