A Landscape/Nursery Technology student at Pennsylvania College of Technology has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET).
Lisa A. Beehler, Williamsport, won the Chapel Valley/Reeve Family Scholarship during the recent ?Student Career Days? held March 19-22 at the University of Maryland.
The scholarship was endowed by Chapel Valley Landscape Co., a leader in the landscape contracting industry, and its owners. The Reeve family and its Woodbine, Md.-based business are a Founding Ambassador of the Associated Landscape Contractors of America Educational Foundation, which recently presented more than $38,500 in scholarships to 37 students.
"Lisa is a very hard-working student," said Carl J. Bower Jr., a horticulture instructor in Penn College's School of Natural Resources Management. "Whether in class or on the job site, she always gives her all. She is very deserving of this scholarship."
