The Penn College Ultimate Frisbee team hosted its first home tournament Saturday. Nine teams competed in the event, including college teams from Rochester Institute of Technology, Alfred University (New York), Lycoming College, Lock Haven University, East Stroudsburg University, Temple University, Loyola College (Baltimore) and Penn College; and a club team from Harrisburg named Fission.
Skyrocketing utility costs are not only challenging Pennsylvania College of Technology students and employees at home, but are threatening to swell tuition costs. To encourage the college community to join together to lower utility bills on campus, the Governance Facilities Committee recently launched the "Smart Energy Use" Web site.
The Instructional Technology Grant award committee is pleased to announce the recipients of this year's awards. Penn College's internal Governance system recaps the major issues addressed by its various committees last month and reports the recent election results. The results, at this point, are incomplete. Governance still is trying to fill several open positions with appointees.
More than 150 students in 10th to 12th grades visited campus Friday to take part in the Outreach for K-12 Office's NanoTrek Camp. The students are enrolled in the 2+2+2 program, through which they take Penn College classes while in high school.

This season, the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's volleyball team stepped up its level of competition and, on Saturday, it gets a chance to show just how good it has become. The Wildcats will be one of 16 teams competing in the Middle Atlantic Collegiate Volleyball Club League championships at Haverford College.
