As we prepare for the start of another busy academic year, the Human Resources Office reminds all Penn College employees of the referral bonus program in the Food Services department. Since the program started in the summer of 2000, Food Services has hired 25 people as a result of recommendations from college employees.
The winners of the 2006 Fitness Center Challenge have been announced by Kristi L. Hammaker, Fitness Center supervisor: First prize goes to Jim Riedel, who lost 17.5pounds of fat in 12 weeks and wins a refund of his semester membership. In second place, and the winner of a Powerbar T-shirt, isJosh Lodge, who lost 15.5 pounds of fat.
A third-year Pennsylvania College of Technology student, working to complete his bachelor's degree in automotive technology management, is one of five students nationwide to receive a $5,000 scholarship from CCC Information Services Inc. Joshua M.
Pennsylvania College of Technology will hold two commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 13, for the nearly 900 students who have petitioned to graduate at the completion of the Spring 2006 semester. A ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. for students from the Schools of Construction and Design Technologies, Integrated Studies, Natural Resources Management, and Transportation Technology.

Despite a late run in its Powder Puff Football game against on-campus opponents, a team of female off-campus students came up short and lost the inaugural battle by a 16-14 score Sunday night. According to a recap by Jeremy Bottorf, Field House/Fitness Center assistant, the game started with the on-campus team driving down field and scoring first for an early 7-0 lead.
