Pennsylvania College of Technology will hold two commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 13, for the nearly 900 students who have petitioned to graduate at the completion of the Spring 2006 semester.
A ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. for students from the Schools of Construction and Design Technologies, Integrated Studies, Natural Resources Management, and Transportation Technology. A ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. for graduates from the Schools of Business and Computer Technologies, Health Sciences, Hospitality, and Industrial and Engineering Technologies.
The student speaker for the morning ceremony will be Michael C. Badger, of Northumberland, who will receive a bachelor's degree in technical and professional communication.
The student speaker for the afternoon ceremony will be Alan J. Wertz, of Danville, who will receive a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering technology.
During the ceremonies, the college will present the Master Teacher Award the highest level of recognition conferred upon a faculty member as well as Excellence in Teaching Awards. Also to be presented are Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna and Alumnus/Alumna Achievement Awards.
Degrees will be conferred by Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour and Penn College Board of Directors Chairman Robert E. Dunham.
The ceremonies will be broadcast live in the Williamsport area on SusCom (the local cable TV provider) Channel 2, beginning at 10 a.m.
