Pennsylvania College of Technology’s men’s golf team dominated the United East Fall Preview and its soccer teams went a combined 3-0 last week. For the third year in a row, the men’s golf team finished at the top and Peyton Mussina of Montoursville medaled in the United East Fall Preview on Monday.
Two representatives of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Student Government Association attended the annual All-University Day, held Oct. 5 at Penn State’s Beaver Stadium. The annual event was founded to unite and recognize the students of Penn State’s commonwealth and special mission campuses.
Although therapy dogs and goat yogis regularly keep the campus cuddle quota high, the Penn College community was treated recently to a visit by fur friends who reside at Mama T’s Homestead. Sheep, rabbits and ducks were among the stars at the three-hour “Meet ‘n Greet.”
Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Board of Directors on Thursday approved an agreement for a trail easement for the Susquehanna River Walk extension, authorized parameters for the college’s 2025-26 state budget request and elected officers for 2024-25.
In the two and a half weeks since ground was broken for a Habitat for Humanity home just north of campus – on a Fifth Avenue property donated to Greater Lycoming Habitat for Humanity by Penn College – students in building construction and heavy construction equipment technology majors have made six visits to the site.

WNEP-TV reporter Mackenzie Aucker and photojournalist Tom Durant visited Pennsylvania College of Technology Wednesday to conduct interviews and capture footage for a feature on the college's diesel drag truck. The report aired on the local ABC affiliate's 5 p.m. newscast. Among those interviewed was Brad R. Conklin, instructor of diesel equipment technology, who was also interviewed by WNEP 24 years ago when he was a student working on the rig in its earliest days.
Benjamin H. Eldred, a retired faculty member who taught for 32 years in the heavy construction equipment technology major at Pennsylvania College of Technology and its predecessor institution, Williamsport Area Community College, died Oct. 2 at the age of 77. Eldred received the 2000 Veronica M. Muzic Master Teacher Award, the college’s highest faculty honor. He played a key role in the college’s longtime partnership with Caterpillar Inc.
Michael J. Reed, president of Pennsylvania College of Technology, addressed the Opening General Session of the 44th annual conference of the Aviation Council of Pennsylvania, held Tuesday at the Holiday Inn Williamsport. Delivering the keynote address at the session was Michael B. Carroll, state secretary of transportation.
On Saturday, Nov. 9, Pennsylvania College of Technology will provide free dental care to children and teens age 7-18. From 9 a.m. to noon in the college’s Dental Hygiene Clinic, volunteer dentists and dental hygienists and Penn College students will provide free oral screenings, sealants and education during an activity dubbed “Sealant Saturday.” Appointments are required and can be made by calling 570-320-8007.
