In the arena of children's care and education, The Children's Learning Center at Pennsylvania College of Technology has been awarded a gold star. The center has earned accreditation by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs, the nation's oldest and largest organization of early-childhood professionals.

Philadelphia area dental hygienists now have the opportunity to earn baccalaureate degrees to advance in their field thanks to a unique program using videoconferencing technology. The bachelor of science degree course work in dental hygiene will be delivered from Pennsylvania College of Technology, in Williamsport, to a classroom at Montgomery County Community College.

The North American Council of Automotive Teachers is celebrating its 25th annual conference and has selected Pennsylvania College of Technology to be the host site. NACAT delegates from across the United States and Canada will converge on the Penn College campus the week of July 20-24 to learn about new advances in the transportation industry and new approaches in education.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus is serving as the Northcentral region host site for the June quarterly meeting of the Pennsylvania Rural Development Council. Teen parents or expectant teen parents can begin to secure a successful future for themselves and their children by attending the New Options Career Camp. The free, eight-day program will provide a "jump start" on career plans for the future.

The diagnosis is a healthy future for new majors being introduced for Fall 1998 at Pennsylvania College of Technology. A bachelor of science degree in applied health studies and associate of applied science degrees in dietary manager technology and physical fitness specialist join the curriculum this fall.

Pennsylvania College of Technology will conduct four weeks of Summer Sports Camps, beginning the week of June 15-19. The camps are aimed at improving the skills of young athletes and increasing their love of the game. Also featured will be an adult tennis camp. On tap are a Boys' Basketball Skills Camp for grades three to eight and a Youth Tennis Camp for grades six to 12 the week of June 15-19.

Pennsylvania College of Technology is introducing new educational options focused on travel and tourism and financial planning for Fall 1998. A travel and tourism emphasis is being added to the business management Associate of Applied Science degree.
