Pennsylvania College of Technology presented "Distinguished Staff" and "Part-Time Teaching Excellence" awards Wednesday, while also honoring retirees and the newest members of the College's "Quarter-Century Club." The honors were bestowed at an Employee Recognition Week Reception held at Penn's Inn in the Bush Campus Center.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's Web site has won two prestigious awards in The Communicator Awards 2003 Print Media competition. The College Web site was honored with "Awards of Distinction" in both the "Design/Web Site" and "Web Site/Overall Site" competition categories. The Communicator Awards is an international competition recognizing outstanding work in the communications field.

A free information session on training available through WEDnetPA (the Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania) and PA WIN (the Pennsylvania Workforce Improvement Network) will be held at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus on Thursday, May 29. The program will be offered from 11 a.m. to noon at the North Campus, which is located on Route 6 east of Wellsboro.

Pennsylvania College of Technology will present "Distinguished Alumnus" and "Alumnus Achievement" awards at commencement ceremonies to be held May 17 at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport. Walter D.

The members of the newly formed Pennsylvania College of Technology chapter of Sigma Beta Delta the International Honor Society in Business, Management and Administration were inducted in ceremonies held recently at the College.

The Technology Transfer Center at Pennsylvania College of Technology will offer yoga courses this summer for beginners, as well as those with some experience. "Introduction to Yoga A Beginning Practice" will be offered on Tuesdays, May 20 through June 24, and again from July 8 to Aug. 12. The class will meet from 4:45 to 6:15 p.m. for both six-week sessions.

Jack Nicklaus II, an award-winning golf-course designer and former touring professional, will be the featured pro at the 17th Annual Spring Golf Classic hosted by the Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation on May 12 at the Williamsport Country Club. The annual fund-raising event for sponsors supports the Scholarship Aid Program for Penn College students.

A Canton Area Senior High School student is the second recipient of a scholarship established last year at Pennsylvania College of Technology to honor the memory of the late wife of state Sen. Roger A. Madigan. The "Pennsylvania's Tomorrow Starts Today" Student Government Seminar Committee selected Jenny A.
