A free information session on training available through WEDnetPA (the Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania) and PA WIN (the Pennsylvania Workforce Improvement Network) will be held at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus on Thursday, May 29.
The program will be offered from 11 a.m. to noon at the North Campus, which is located on Route 6 east of Wellsboro.
Through its Technology Transfer Center, Penn College is one of 35 colleges and universities in Pennsylvania authorized to offer Guaranteed Free Training Program assistance to companies through a grant awarded by the state Department of Community and Economic Development.
This training grant provides funds for basic skills and information-technology training, as well as online training for manufacturing- or technology-based companies.
Government, education, nonprofit and point-of-sale retail organizations are not eligible. Those attending the session can find out if their companies qualify for the program and learn more about free training for their employees.
