Site-preparation work has been completed, and footers will be dug soon for construction of the Center for Business & Workforce Development on West Fourth Street. The general contractor for the project is Robert Feaster Corp., Northumberland. Construction is expected to continue through May 2007.
A group of Pennsylvania College of Technology employees have set up a scholarship fund for a nursing program at the college's North Campus near Wellsboro. The staff of the North Campus will fund the new scholarship, which will provide an annual award of $250 to a student in the North Campus Outreach Practical Nursing Program.
A faculty member in Pennsylvania College of Technology's plastics and polymer technology department has authored a textbook that has been well-received by the plastics industry. Kirk M. Cantor, professor of plastics and polymer technology, wrote the book "Blown Film Extrusion: An Introduction," which was released in April. The book is published by Hanser Gardner Publications.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's Board of Directors has approved an operating budget of $84,167,560 and established tuition and fee rates for the 2006-07 academic year. The operating budget represents a 2.52-percent decrease from 2005-06. Tuition for Pennsylvania residents will increase by $15 per credit hour to $301 per credit hour.
