Demonstration by Accomplished Cake Decorator Held on Campus

Accomplished cake decorator Bartolo "Buddy" Valestro Jr., of Carlo's City Hall Bakery in Hoboken, N.J., offered a demonstration to students, alumni and the public Monday evening. Valestro remained on campus to work with cake-decorating classes Tuesday. Valestro's work has been featured in Modern Bride magazine, and a Food Network Challenge episode in which he competed, " Celebration Cakes ," airs several times through April 1. Valestro, a fourth-generation baker-decorator, learned the craft from his father who bought Carlo's City Hall Bakery from its founder at a very early age and has carried the art to new heights.
